Join Brenda Tulissi on this once-in-a-lifetime group adventure hiking the Inca Trail.Travel from Lima to Cusco and hike the Inca Trail in style on this active discovery of Peru. Explore the neighbourhoods of Miraflores and Barranco by bike in Lima and get your first taste of the delicious local cuisine. See ancient ruins and experience traditional cultures in the Sacred Valley before setting off on the four-day trek, with extra comforts like cots, mattresses and blankets for a better rest. Stay in less crowded campsites with portable toilets and a shower, giving you that extra pep in your step for when you finally walk through the Sun Gate to glimpse Machu Picchu for the very first time.

Day 1 - Lima: Arrival Day 

Get settled in for your adventure and meet your fellow adventures over dinner.

Day 2 - Cycle Miraflores and Barranco

Spend the day exploring the neighbourhoods of Miraflores and Barannco by bike. 

Day 3 - Cusco

Acclimatize to the altitude as you head up towards the Andes and explore Cusco.

Day 4 - The Sacred Valley

See the massive ruins of Pisaq and spend time in a local community on the way up to the site. Enjoy lunch in a community-run restaurant.

Day 5 - The Sacred Valley On Your Own

Spend another day getting aclimatized while enjoying time in the Sacred Valley.

Day 6 - Inca Trail Day 1 

Your first day up to Machu Picchu will be a gentle pace, letting you enjoy the views and warm up your legs.This is your first night camping on the trail!

Day 7 - Inca Trail Day 2

Enjoy another beautiful day at a relaxed pace as you continue on your way to Machu Picchu through the Sun Gate.

Day 8 - Inca Trail Day 3: Dead Woman's Pass

Dead Woman's Pass is the goal for today's hike.

Day 9 - Inca Trail Day 4: The Sun Gate and Machu Piccu

Wake up near the Inca and end the day in Machu Piccu

Day 10 - Machu Piccu and Cusco

Explore Machu Piccu before taking the train back down to Cusco

Day 11 - Cusco: Return Home

Your adventure comes to an end and you can depart at any time.

*Price is for the land portion of the trip only and includes 10 nights' accommodations, 10 breakfasts, 9 lunches, 9 dinners, tips for all included activities and meals, train down to Cusco, your porter, your guide. Flights, pre-tour hotel, post-tour hotel, airport transportation, gratuities, and optional activities are not included. Brenda will be happy to assist you with flights and organization of these additional options. Travel insurance, including trip cancellation, trip interruption, and lost luggage coverage are strongly advised. We require proof of minimum Emergency Medical Insurance with evacuation of $5 million coverage.

Accommodation note:

Hotels (7 nts), Comfortable Camping with cots, mattresses, blankets, portable toilets, and warm showers (3 nts). Please note that hot water shortages and power outages can be fairly common in Peru (even in upgraded hotels and private homes). We appreciate your patience and understanding that these occurrences are outside of our control.

Tipping:

On the Geluxe Collection tours, tipping is included for all included activities and meals. Tipping is not included for the CEO or Porterage. Should you want some basic guidelines on tipping for the activities you do on your own, please see below. At the end of each trip if you felt your G Adventures CEO did an outstanding job, tipping is appreciated. The amount is entirely a personal preference, however as a guideline $10-15 USD per person, per day can be used.

For meals and activities not included in your itinerary, it is appropriate in Latin America to tip 10%. Though not compulsory, tipping is expected. Although it may not be customary to you, it is of considerable significance to the people who will take care of you during your travels and shows an expression of satisfaction.
